Bluetooth Angle-of-Arrival Antenna Board for Indoor Positioning

Global provider of positioning and wireless communication technologies, u-blox, has released the ANT-B11 compact antenna board. Combining Bluetooth technology with the company’s expertise, the board is able to deliver high-precision direction finding and 2D indoor positioning. The compact design of the ANT-B11 allows it to be easily integrated into commercial tracking solutions, making it ideal for direction-finding and indoor positioning applications in mid-sized spaces. The board features an embedded Angle-of-Arrival calculation, making it ready to be used at the application level. Its compact size and affordability make it suitable for a wide range of applications, including tracking assets in indoor areas, granting building access, avoiding collisions, and indoor positioning.

In addition to its compact size and affordability, the u-blox ANT-B11 antenna board offers high immunity to multipath effects and is Bluetooth 5.1 compliant. It is equipped with a u-blox NINA-B411 Bluetooth module and runs the u-connectLocate software, which executes the unique u-blox angle calculation algorithm. This allows the antenna board to output the final azimuth or elevation angle with high accuracy in fractions of a second. This information can then be used to track assets and plot their positions in 2D visualization applications. For 3D visualization, users can continue to rely on the u-blox ANT-B10 antenna board. Overall, the u-blox ANT-B11 offers a reliable and cost-effective solution for indoor direction-finding and positioning applications.

In conclusion, the u-blox ANT-B11 antenna board offers a compact and affordable solution for high-precision direction finding and 2D indoor positioning. Its Bluetooth 5.1 compliance, high immunity to multipath effects, and embedded angle calculation make it a reliable choice for a wide range of indoor applications.
