Embedded Software Developer

At WizzDev, we create electronics, firmware, and IoT systems for real-world products used by thousands of users. We develop solutions for the Smart Home, Smart City, HVAC, Life Science, and MedTech industries. We are looking for someone who combines the skills of an embedded developer with the role of a technical lab supervisor and a mentor for students, interns, and vocational school trainees. This is an independent and highly responsible position. In addition to software development, you will be responsible for lab safety, supporting juniors starting their careers, and assisting the sales department with embedded projects.

Responsibilities
Embedded Development

Developing firmware for devices based on ESP32, STM32, nRF, and Embedded Linux,

Creating technical documentation,

Participating in the architectural design of embedded systems,

Debugging and troubleshooting technical issues,

Supporting projects in Smart Home, Smart City, HVAC, Life Science, and MedTech industries.

Laboratory Supervision

Taking responsibility for safety in the embedded lab,

Supervising electronics and measurement workstations,

Supervising mains-powered (grid-powered) device,

Supervising workstations utilizing three-phase motors,

Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety (BHP) procedures,

Organizing and maintaining laboratory equipments,

Collaborating on the creation and updates of workstation instructions.

Interns and Trainees

Mentoring students, interns, and trainees,

Supervising underage vocational school trainees,

Conducting workstation safety briefings and onboarding,

Introducing juniors to working with electronics and embedded systems,

Setting up workstations for trainees,

Verifying compliance with safety regulations.

Sales Support

Preparing project proposals for clients.,

Collaborating with the sales department on estimations for embedded projects,

Managing WizzDev’s Upwork account, including writing proposals,

Communicating with potential clients,

Participating in technical meetings with clients,

Assisting in setting project rates.

Requirements

Higher technical education (Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Robotics, Mechatronics, or related fields),

Minimum of 2 years of commercial experience after completing a Master’s degree (Mid) OR a minimum of 5 years of experience (Senior),

Practical knowledge of C and C++,

Basic knowledge of Python,

Good knowledge of analog and digital electronics,

Ability to work with technical documentation,

English proficiency at a minimum B2 level,

Strong self-organization and ability to coordinate the work of others,

High level of responsibility regarding workplace safety.,

Formal Requirements

Clean criminal record, confirmed by an up-to-date certificate from the National Criminal Register (KRK),

Readiness to work with minors,

Readiness to take responsibility for the safety of trainees and interns during their duties,

Readiness to sign a material liability agreement for entrusted property and access to sales accounts,

Readiness for full-time, on-site work between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

Nice to have

Experience in conducting technical classes/workshops,

Mentoring and training experience,

Experience in managing an electronics laboratory,

Experience with NVIDIA Jetson,

Experience with AWS IoT Core,

Knowledge of IoT device cybersecurity,

Experience in preparing technical proposals.

You will also learn more about our company culture and the direction we are heading.

The onboarding process ends with a welcome lunch with the CEO. This is a moment to reflect on your first weeks and discuss next steps in your development and collaboration with the company.

Stage 1

We review your email responses and get in touch by phone with selected candidates.

Stage 2

We meet in the office to get to know you better — we’ll talk about your previous experience, your approach to work, and ask for references.

Stage 3

The second in-person meeting focuses on assessing your technical skills.

Stage 4

If both sides are interested in moving forward, we discuss the terms of employment. Once everything is agreed, we contact your references and finalize the process.
